‘Impressions of Malawi’ exhibition opening at Chambo Market, 27 Jan – 3 Feb 2024

'Impression of Malawi' - Athira Krishnan's first photography exhibition, at Chambo Market

On 27 January 2024, Chambo Market Bookshop and Gallery will host Athira Krishnan’s exhibition ‘Impressions of Malawi’. Photographer and writer, Athira grew up in Lilongwe, and is collaborating with Logos Open Culture on a forthcoming photography book.

Athira Krishnan is a business graduate turned creative entrepreneur, who’s currently traveling around Africa, and Southern and Eastern Asia, pursuing her passion for landscape photography and travel writing.
As a third-culture kid, she grew up in Malawi and finished her schooling at BMIS in Lilongwe, then moving to Dubai where she completed her International Business Degree.

It didn’t take long for Athira to discover that she was meant to go down the path of creativity, and after a year of working in an unsatisfactory corporate job she set out to build her own commercial food and product photography career.

Athira is a life-long creative learner. She is currently on sabbatical from commercial work to dedicate herself to building her expertise on landscape photography. She’s often inspired and easily impressed by the wonders of nature, and continues to experiment in new manners with her photography lens.
